What An Awesome Day

Although my disability often limits how much I can be involved in certain activities, I'm sure glad today wasn't a day when my disability limited me from being able to join in on all the fun. At least, there was a small crowd to enjoy the fishing fun today. It might have been a bit difficult to enjoy it had there been a large group at the lake today. Really, I don't think the helpers would have easily been able to help everyone if all the people who had originally signed up all went fishing today. Absolutely not! That would have just been way too crazy. On a nice day, it's nice just to go fishing with only a few friends, rather than a big group of friends. We didn't even let a little rain spoil our fun. We were asked if we wanted to turn around and come back home, on account of the weather. I wasn't the least bit surprised when a resounding "NO" was heard from all the attendees. Nobody wanted to have the fun-filled fishing adventure ruined, on account of a little rain. Boy, am I glad that we didn't turn around and head back home because of the poor weather conditions we had early this morning. The little rain shower didn''t even stop me from being able to get involved in something that was new for me. When I went fishing, I felt as if it no longer mattered that I had cerebral palsy. In a way, I felt like that no longer mattered- aand all that mattered was that being able to have fun with my friends and get the opportunity to be outside- rather than staying inside all day. There's another fishing trip again next weekend. This is only because the amount of attendees had to be divided into two groups. Because I already went fishing today, I am not sure I'll be able to go again next week. If I am able to go, I hope that I get lucky- and catch yet another fish. Maybe, if I go, I might get lucky two weeks in a row- catching fish on both trips. That would most definitely be a first. I don't think this has ever happened before- that I know of.
