Tonight, I joined the cthe Mary Bryant Home. I had a great time learning new songs that were sung to familiar tunes. I tried to sing along as best I along as best I could. It didn't take me long to learn all the songs. Since many of the songs were sung to tunes I dang in grade school, memorizing them was no trouble at all. "It was nice having you join our chorus," my friends told me after practice ended. horus at
"I like your group better than when I used to sing in a used to sing in a chorus when I was in high school," I explained. My friends all said to me.
Later that evening, I told my best friend all about my latest adventure.
"I'm so happy for you. However, I'm also a bit jealous of you, too. I wish could carry a tune, but I have a nazal voice." Regardless of her jealoussy, Christie was glad that I had gotten that I had gotten involved in an involved in an activity that I am really going to enjoy forever and ever. I also really wanted to tell my mom my wonderful news.
So- before I went to bed, I e-mailed my mom about my awesome news. I wasn't really sure how she'd react to my wonderfully big Mary Bryant Home breaking news, I was afraid Mom was going to overreact and tell me that I might be getting involved in too many activities right away. I had a feeling that my mom would treat me like my younger brother- knowing that he and I are two very different individuals. So, I cautiously checked my e-mail after breakfast, as I had an idea she might be real excited for me. Boy, was I right!
"TERRIFFIC!" Mom wrote in her e-mail message e-mail message earlier this morning. After reading that nice message, I was so proud of myself for trying something new and different. Come to think of it, it is really neat to have new experiences now and then. Not to mention spending time with my new with all my new friends here at the Mary Bryant Home for the Blind
Tonight, however, will be yet another new experience for me. This evening, some of the other residents and I are all going to see a free concert in the park. The best thing about tonight's outing is that my best friend's mom is coming along with us on this outing. However, there's one problem about tonight's schedule There is a baseball game at about the same around the same time as the band concert. Boy, does that ever make me mad!! Well, at least I asked a friend to listen to the game for me. Anyway, have a feeling the Chicago Cubs are going to POUND the St. Louis Cardinals tonight, tomorrow night, and Thursday night Yes, I predict that we are going to SWEEP the "redbirds" this week. I already told one of my friends about my prediction, and he laughed and said,
"We have Albert Pujols, so we will win all three of the games."
I laughed, saying "Not a chance! I strongly believe believe that the Cubs are truly going to CREAM going to CREAM the Cardinals."
Before my friend had a chance to had a chance to say anything more, I tried to run out I tried to run out of the dining room as fast as I possibly could. Of course, the top challenge will be to see if my prediction ends up coming true. The prediction, I feel absolutely confident in my baseball theory. However, I once made an attempt . . . yet again- at convincing my friend that the Cubs are indeed going to pull off a three-game sweep against the St. Louis Cardinals. Once more, my friend thought that I was sadly mistaken about the upcoming three-game set. "OK, Cardinal," he said. "I'm going to convert you yet." In the past, I had a teacher who said teacher who said high school almost the same thing, as he, too, was also a fan of the St. Louis Cardinals. I took a minute, thinking about what that particular teacher had told me many times. "
Tonight's going to be a victorious night for the Chicago Cubs," I stated. "Anyways, you'll never, ever get me to root for the Cardinals." I was pretty certain I had heard the end the last of the trash talking. But, oh no! He told me- once more -this morning- that he's still going to convert me into a Cards fan. I told him that the Cubs won the first game of this series by the slim score of 3 to 2. After I told him that the Cubs series, he went right back into his trash-talking usual trash- talking mode.
"We are going to win tonight," he told me. "We have Albert Pujols." I couldn't resist rubbing it in that the Cubs are going to be victorious again tonight and tomorrow night, I rubbed in to my frind. He replied in his usual way,
"OK, Cardinal," he replied, trying to make me think that he'd be able to get me to see his point of view. Unfortunately, it still hasn't worked. The Cardinals lost again last night, and I really had to give my friend a hard time this morning.
"Your Cardinals are going to be swept tonight," I said. I am quite hopeful that I'm right on my baseball prediction
