NOT ADAIN!

NOT ADAIN! One year ago, yesterday . . . was the beginning of the worst winter I can remember. When I was at UIS, I recall that the campus had to be shut down because a very bad winter storm hit the area. The entire Springfield area was severely affected by this winter storm, which we ended up repeating six times over the course of last winter. Boy, was that the worst.
According to information I read on www.weather.com, as well as what I heard on the Weather Channel, Central Illinois will be impacted by a winter storm beginning tomorrow. The friends I have at UIS are going to have yet more stress put on them- on top of the other issue they’re facing. . . a problem that has been going on for quite some time.
DISCRIMINATION! The students with disabilities are being discrimated by the University because they are disabled. According to a WUIS report, one student is being discriminated against , just because she’s in a motorized wheelchair. . . which unfortunately is too big to fit in her dorm room. She’s not being allowed to keep it in the hallway, and she doesn’t think that’s right. Still, other students are having education problems- lack of help in getting their needs met.
